Dear all,

A belated message to let you know that the April edition of NRICH is now
online at http://nrich.maths.org.

As you might remember, in April, August and December the site contains
two extra open-ended, investigative challenges and this month these are
Investigating Pascal's Triangle
<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5593&part=index> and
Like a Circle in a Spiral
<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5603&part=index> . To
find them follow the links or select "This month" in the left-hand menu.
We hope these challenges will intrigue and inspire you, as well as
encourage you to talk to others about what you're doing. We also have an
extra article for you: Paper Folding - Models of the Platonic Solids
<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5480&part=index> which
describes how to build models of the Platonic solids simply using sheets
of paper. Have a go - you'll amaze your friends with the results!

As in previous months, we have a new Sudoku to tantalise you: Ratio
Sudoku 3
<http://nrich.maths.org/public/viewer.php?obj_id=5604&part=index> . This
time, the puzzle can be solved with the help of small clue numbers which
are ratios or fractions of two digits in the two squares that are
horizontally or vertically or diagonally adjacent to each other.

As usual, solutions to the current problems will appear at the beginning
of May.

Back in January, we wrote to invite you to complete a questionnaire
developed by Libby Jared as part of her current educational research.
There has been a pleasing number of responses so far and Libby is very
grateful to everyone who has given her information. Nevertheless, even
now more replies will be received with the same amount of gratitude.
She would like to make one last request for final contributions as you
return to school following the Easter Break. If there is anybody
remaining who would be able to complete the questionnaire before the end
of April then that would be great! It will disappear off the site at the
end of this month. Follow this link:

or click on the "Questionnaire" menu item on NRICH:

With best wishes from The NRICH Team
