In response to some lobbying, the MIUA submission deadline has been extended. Papers will now be accepted up to midnight on Friday 27th April. Papers can be uploaded at http://www.miu.org.uk/. Remember you need to submit a pdf of a paper up to 5 pages long and a one-page summary sheet. Can I draw your attention to the following MIUA Criteria for Inclusion: "The main criterion for inclusion of papers in MIUA should be that the work described should make a contribution to the body of knowledge of the subject in the United Kingdom research community. As such, the work should be scientifically sound and recent. Novelty of the work itself, while desirable, is not of over-riding importance. MIUA can provide a useful forum for communicating interesting research that may have been published elsewhere, but which may not be widely known throughout the UK MIUA community. The key issue is that work should make a contribution to knowledge in terms of scientific or technical insight or quantitative analysis. In particular, it is acceptable that papers submitted to other conferences may be simultaneously submitted to MIUA (though this acceptability may not be reciprocal)." So in short we are happy to receive relevant papers that have been submitted to BMVC/MICCAI/ICCV/IPMI. Make sure the organisers of those conferences are happy with dual submission. The turnround time for reviewing MIUA papers is already short, given the historical schedule for submissions, and extensions make it difficult to keep to schedule (and no further extension can be given). If you have already submitted a paper, thank you. You now have the opportunity to make final modifications, if you wish. If you haven't submitted a paper, you still have the opportunity to do so. We look forward to receiving your further papers.
