it's just a "web service" available at a URL. I've attached a doc that I
started working on to explain it to the librarians. It's not finished yet.
Won't be until the gateway pilot is finished.

Instead of using the lengthy athens url, which has version info in it, so
will prolly change at some point, you just need the Athens resource code.
