I think access to the CCTV recording would be accessing personal data and therefore require the requisite subject access procedures to be followed. I don't think that there is any issue with the giving of the command via loudspeakers - not sure that "Excuse me...yes you in the coat...put that rubbish in the bin" would count as personal data as it happens. Access to it after the event would be accessing personal data. I might be wrong. Be gentle with me! Ronan. ======================== -----Original Message----- From: This list is for those interested in Data Protection issues [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Ian Welton Sent: 04 April 2007 17:27 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [data-protection] SAR implications?[Scanned] There has been some media coverage about loudspeakers being rolled out alongside cameras in some cities, allowing for camera operators to take a more proactive role in the community they watch. Question. Would any loudspeaker comment(s) directed at a member of the public form personal data, and hence be part of a subject access response should one be made?
