I prefer the new settings. John Bryant's statement that "some will accidentally do the private message thing, that occurrence is rare and endurable" is contradicted by fact. The number of private messages for the list is close to or higher than the number of genuine ones. In my e-mail program (MS Outlook) I have a wonderful button called Reply To All which will do the job of sending the message to -- in fact -- all.
