Overview: This second UKCGE Bologna Discussion Forum will focus on the ‘Doctoral Cycle’ within the Bologna process. The key outcomes of the London Ministerial Summit on Doctoral Programmes (3^rd cycle) in May will be presented by one of the UK Representatives (Professor Drummond Bone), who will review the London Communiqué and its implications for Postgraduate Education in the UK.

The relevance of the Communiqué to UK Research plc and the likely impact on UK Masters and Doctoral programmes will be discussed by Professor Mary Ritter, Pro-Chancellor (Postgraduate and International Affairs), IC, London. Small break-out groups will review specific issues arising from the agreement on developing the ‘Doctoral Cycle’ within the Bologna Process.
