UKCGE is pleased to announce its latest Bologna Discussion Forum - Doctoral Futures and the Bologna Process: The London Communiqué and its Potential Impact on Postgraduate Education in the UK which is taking place on Thursday 7th June at the MIC Conference & Hotel Centre, London.
 
The cost for this event is £145 for UKCGE Members & £185 for non-members. Due to technical difficulties on-line booking facilities for this event are currently unavailable. Details and a draft programme for the event are listed below.
 

Intended for: Pro-Vice Chancellors, Senior policy makers for Graduate Research Programmes in HEIs, Graduate Deans, Administrators, Research Managers, Academic Research Supervisors

 

Overview: This second UKCGE Bologna Discussion Forum will focus on the ‘Doctoral Cycle’ within the Bologna process. The key outcomes of the London Ministerial Summit on Doctoral Programmes (3rd cycle) in May will be presented by one of the UK Representatives (Professor Drummond Bone), who will review the London Communiqué and its implications for Postgraduate Education in the UK.

 

The relevance of the Communiqué to UK Research plc and the likely impact on UK Masters and Doctoral programmes will be discussed by Professor Mary Ritter, Pro-Chancellor (Postgraduate and International Affairs), IC, London. Small break-out groups will review specific issues arising from the agreement on developing the ‘Doctoral Cycle’ within the Bologna Process.

 

Attendance: For logistical reasons the number of attendees for this event is limited to 50.
