The South Asian Health Foundation, a UK Charity whose
aims are to improve the health and well-being of South Asians living in the
We are looking an enthusiastic and committed person
to work with the SAHF Board and its Cardiovascular group and also within south
Asian communities. S/he will contribute to the development of the project,
adaptation, tailoring and management at a community level, establishment of a
steering committee and will be responsible for its day-to-day management.
Specifically, s/he will:
- Organise community meetings
- Liaise with partners for the project (both national
and local)
- Assist with the translation of English resources
into south Asian languages
- Produce evaluation materials and reports at regular
intervals
- Develop public relations materials and advertising
materials, as well as media resources as required.
Essential skills: Applicants must be conversant in
English and have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills,
with previous experience in community health promotion. Good IT skills are
essential.
Preferable skills: Ability to communicate in other
south Asian languages. A medical background would be an asset and possession of
media skills/experience in the media would be an advantage.
Renumeration: The project carries renumeration of
£24000 gross for 12 months (pro-rata).
