COPYRIGHT COMPLIANCE: POLICIES AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Ensure your organisation's copying activities are copyright compliant. This one-day course will guide participants through the process of developing a copyright policy and what it should cover.

THE DAY WILL ALSO INCLUDE:
·	how to determine if your copying has the necessary authorization
·	what constitutes copyright infringement and the consequences
·	high, medium and low risk activities and how to minimize the risks
·	resolving copyright disputes

·	learned what a copyright policy might contain
·	been given a number of practical tips and suggestions of steps to demonstrate they uphold the moral and legal rights 	of the creators and distributors of intellectual property whilst also defending the legitimate needs and interests of 	their information users.

Those who need to ensure that their information service is copyright compliant and / or need to develop an organisational copyright policy in order to reduce the risks of copyright infringement. 

The course is aimed at those who already have a good basic understanding of current copyright law.

COURSE LEADER:  PAUL PEDLEY
Paul is Head of Research at the Economist Intelligence Unit. He is a member of the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance, and a Visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University. Paul has written a number of books published by Facet Publishing.
