Hi Mathieu, There are details on this here: http://nifti.nimh.nih.gov/nifti-1/documentation/nifti1fields/nifti1fields_pages/datatype.html So e.g. type 4 is signed short (16bit), type 16 is 32bit float (hence matching avwmaths_32R). Also, e.g. avwhd does show a text data_type field, as well as the numerical datatype one. Try avwval image.nii data_type Best, Ged. mathieu LOUPPE wrote: > dear fsl list, > > I try to find informations about datatype because my data are in datatype4 > and i need to know the number of bits of my data to rescale my phase. > Has everyone any informations about datatype 4 or datatype 16?? > When you do avwmaths_32R on a datatype 4 your file become datatype16. > > What does it mean?? > > Thanks. > Mathieu. >
