Dear Claire,

How about purchasing for individual international student use and then
when the student is done, request the equipment back to put into your
loan pool? Of course also good practice/idea etc to have equip and tech
available in library too!

Thanks Brigid (ps still waiting to hear if anyone out there has CSW BSL
level 3 contact!)

Subject: Support Funds

I have a query for those institutions who have a support fund for
disabled students, mainly non-DSA students. Does anyone have any
guidance on how this fund is used? For example, would you purchase
items of equipment and software specifically for a student or would you
consider purchasing software to be installed within the University
library/IT areas or would you consider both options? What I am trying
to establish is whether purchasing specialist software for overseas
students to be used in the main university areas is reasonable or should
we be considering purchasing the software for their own personal use.
We already have some laptops with specialist software on for use as loan
equipment but there are times when they are all on loan. Any advice
would be greatly appreciated.

With best wishes
Claire
