This may be the same people that I fell foul of here:

The may be related to Satellite Direct which is also DPS and may be also
some holiday company. The UKIC would be very interested in a formal
complaint on this at present. They were most interested in mine.

Subject: [data-protection] Friday story ... Or rather Thursday

I had an interesting unsolicited sales call yesterday from a young lady
phoning on behalf of a company calling themselves Sky Sat TV. The young lady
had my name, address and knew that I had subscribed to cable TV in the past
and started her sales pitch. I interrupted and asked how she got my contact
details and was told that they got their information from "The National
Database". I said I had never heard of it was told that it's a database run
by the government that contains information about everyone and that they
have access to it. Hmmm. Further discussion with her supervisor revealed
that in fact they buy in databases from a company which, after some
pressing, turned out to be TLS Data.
Apparently they supply contact details of relevant consumers to their
customers. Not in this case, however, as I have never subscribed to cable or
sattelite TV in any shape or form - so where they got that from I am most
curious to know! The National Database perhaps.
