GIS and Black History

I work with a small voluntary organisation, BASA (the Black and Asian
Studies Association) which is seeking to create a searchable database,
(accessible via their website), of parish records, baptism records etc.,
which record the presence of Black and Asian people in Britain from the
1600s up until the 1850s.

Ideally it would be great to have a map of Britain, broken down into
regions, which people could click on in order to bring up the records
relevant to that area. There are about 2000 records so far, but there will
be more in the future no doubt.

Does anyone know of anyone working on Historical GIS that might be
interested in working with BASA on this, bearing in mind that they would
not be able to pay them very much.

Thanks
