Conference Announcement and Invitation to Contribute

 

Community Psychology UK Annual Conference

Theme: Sharing Spaces and Places

 

 

York St John University, York, UK

13th and 14th September, 2007

                                                                                                  

 

This is an annual conference of people from a variety of specialisms and settings who have interests utilising the principles of community psychology to underpin their work. The conference will provide opportunities to hear presentations, attend workshops and network with people with similar interests from across the UK and beyond. Individuals and small groups from a range of organisations and agencies will be able to meet together and exchange information on practice, research, and policy in action.

 

The conference will be organised around the theme Sharing spaces and places.

 

Potential threads are: 

*	Understanding of the links between people and their contexts;
*	Breaking down barriers between individuals, groups and organisations;
*	Migration of people, pressure on space, challenges in different places;
*	Community and sustainability / community engagement in 'greener' environments.

 

Call for Papers /Workshops

 

Papers / Workshops are invited from any perspective relevant to the above theme.

Proposals from community and voluntary sector groups, practitioners, service users, as well as by academics, students, and researchers are welcomed. 

 

Proposal Guidelines

Proposals should be titled clearly, written as a summary of what is intended, limited to a maximum of 250 words and should be submitted by e-mail to [log in to unmask]

 

On a separate page please list: title of proposal submitted, contact person's name and address, telephone number during the daytime, fax and email address.

 

The deadline for the submission is 31 May 2007

 

Conference Language­:  The official language of the conference is English.

The conference will be of interest to a wide audience from a variety of settings:

Voluntary Organisations; Community Services; Health Care; Education;

Please note: presenters will be expected to register for the conference and pay the fee, which will be £100, non residential. However, there will be a number of options for financial support to people who are less able to pay (including community members, and non-waged participants). Please contact Jacqui if you would like to submit a proposal but think that costs will be a barrier to attendance.
