TEMPORARY ARCHIVIST (PART TIME 21.25 hours per week) Ref: 04/07
FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 3 MONTHS
Salary: £12,178 per annum pro rata (FTE salary: £20,296 per annum)
We are looking for a qualified Archivist to join our Collections team for a period of 3 months to compensate for a short-term staffing shortfall. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Senior Archivist in maintaining archives service levels during public opening hours on Tuesdays to Thursdays, this may include assisting in the delivery of activities that form part of the annual events programme.
In addition to the above you will assist in managing, cataloguing, documenting and interpreting the archive collections.
To fulfil this role, you must possess a first degree in history or another relevant subject and a postgraduate qualification in archives management, or equivalent experience recognised by a professional body. You should have good knowledge of current professional standards, good oral and written communication skills and a willingness to work within the Museum's corporate objectives and policies.
