Tenure-Track Position in Environmental Archaeology

The Department of Anthropology at Trent University invites applications for
a tenure-track position in Environmental Archaeology at the level of
Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2007, subject to budgetary approval.
Potential areas of specialization include, but are not limited to,
palaeoecology, environmental reconstruction, geoarchaeology, zooarchaeology,
and archaeobotany. The successful candidate will develop a program of
externally funded research that complements and enhances existing
departmental strengths.  A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate
teaching is essential.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach
undergraduate courses in their area of specialization, as well as in one or
more of the following general areas: introduction to archaeology, Old World
prehistory, archaeological laboratory procedures, and environmental
archaeology. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate
fully in the Anthropology Graduate Program.  A Ph.D. at the time of
appointment is required.
