Ecsite-uk, the body representing over 75 science and discovery centres, is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to build on the achievements of the last five years and take it forward into a new phase of its development. The aim of Ecsite-uk is to further raise the profile and quality of science centres UK wide, to secure recognition and funding from government and serve the needs of its membership. DIRECTOR- package £50,000 The successful candidate must be a passionate advocate for science and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims of the network. You must have strong management, strategic and networking skills and experience of the external agenda relating to the sector. The role requires an excellent and persuasive communicator, used to engaging at all levels in the public, private and voluntary sectors in order to represent the interests of the membership. You will be able to demonstrate experience of building and sustaining partnerships and must be a self-starter, used to working on your own initiative and willing to accept a flexible working pattern which will include evening and weekend work, and travel worldwide where necessary. The role will include management of a small team.
