Joanna, Sorry--I just realized you were talking about the former, not the latter. My anecdote for that kind of bad readership is a book of poetic analysis put out by a rather well-known poet who requested the inclusion of one of my poems. He got it so wrong in his analysis that I was utterly embarrassed and the poem was spoiled for me.
