medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture Thanks to all - Christopher, Marjorie et al who contributed with the usual generous promptness to my question. > A quick search turned this up: the couple was married secretly at the Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre church. i believe that this church belonged to the Bishop (would that have been the noted reformer Stephen of Senlis at this time?). the arguments laid out in favor of St. Aignan on the site Maddy found http://www.pierre-abelard.com/itin-Saint%20Aignan.htm A website I really should have checked *in depth* since I not only know it well but it has some of my (admittedly out of date and attempts to get it amended have failed ) genealogical stuff appears on it. Gratitude - and some blushes - all round. And yes - for what it's worth - I think St A is the more likely venue, which was why I was trying to find the pics of it.
