Postdoctoral Researcher
Popular Music, Cityscapes and the Urban Environment
School of Music

£27,465 pa

This two-year post is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council,
and it is attached to an interdisciplinary project on musicmaking, urban
space and the urban environment. Using Liverpool as a case study, the
project will consider the influence of music-making on the character of the
urban environment and on how that environment is used, experienced,
interpreted and represented, and in turn the influence of the urban
environment on music-making.

Applicants should have a doctorate in an area related to the project (e.g.
music and media studies, cultural geography, social anthropology),
experience of ethnographic research and good computer skills.
