This is a final reminder for the
expression of interest in participating in the inaugural meeting of the ECREA Communication Law and Policy Section,
in Leeds (
Carole Tongue, former MEP and
particularly well known for her work on Public Service Broadcasting and the Culture
Committee of the European Parliament will be giving a keynote address on Television Without Frontiers and Cultural Diversity,
followed by a round-table discussion with all workshop participants.
Richard Corbett, MEP, a leading
proponent of the European Constitution will give an open key-note speech on The EU at 50: The End of the Federal Dream?
The aims of this meeting are:
-to identify current and urgent
issues in communication, culture and media policy in
-to identify and map a trajectory of
research-centred activities for the section, involving international and
cross-institutional collaboration
-to identify the possibilities for
intervention in policymaking through the organization of core specialist
group/s
