Dear Roger,

Just a quick note on the Vienna Symphonic Library Pro Edition Complete Package:
Although looking nice, it does not contain any music as such, only lots and lots of samples of the instruments, enabling composers and musicians to make (almost) orchestral music on their Macs, PCs and/or laptops.
It is a library of orchestral sounds, for anyone who wants to (piece together and) recreate the sound of an orchestra at home or in the recording studio.

Although not helping with your initial enquiry, I hope this information leads to a decline in mystification.

Kind regards,
Knut

Subject: [IAML-UK-IRL] Waldteufel query

As ever, I'm sure someone out there is the genius to knows this...

I have been asked if there is a full score of Waldteufel, Pizzicato polka. All usual ref. sources have failed.

If anyone possesses a copy of Andrew Lamb, "Skater's waltz: story of the Waldteufels" (0952414902), this is suppose to include a complete work list: does "Pizzicato polka" feature there?

From online searches, I have identified "Beobile: pizzicato for strings", as recorded on vol.6 of Marco Polo's "The best of Emile Waldteufel". From the Lamb worklist, or from general genius knowledge, might this be the rumoured "Pizzicato polka"?

While searching for this, I came across a Vienna Symphonic Library Pro Edition Complete Package, marketed @ whiff under £3000. See:

Does anyone know anything of this seemingly impressive product? Is this the answer to all known Waldteufel enquiries?

I remain, totally,
