Finding Out About Our Visitors:

Introduction to Visitor Studies and Evaluation.

Course Description:

Museums that understand and listen to their users are more likely to succeed.  Consultation with users to inform museum planning and evaluation of visitor experience is becoming a key measure of good practice for all visitor attractions.

This workshop will share National Museums Scotland experience of the value of Visitor Studies and Evaluation through recent case studies.  It will explain the process of evaluation and share tools and scenarios for participants to use in their local situation.  There will also be an opportunity to try some techniques.

The workshop will concentrate on introducing this subject, sharing good practice through case studies and supporting skills development through practical exercises.

General intro to Visitor Studies – what is it, why do we need it, why is it used and what are the benefits?

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
