Grass Roots Training - Child Protection

How do we make museums a safer environment for children and young people, as well as safeguarding those who work in museums?
 
The following main areas will be covered:
·        Statutory legislation for the protection of children & young people (Scottish legislation)
·        What that legislation means to your particular organisation and your people
·        How to identify and create procedures and safeguards to ensure the safety of children and young people within the (museum) organisation
·        Safeguards and procedures for vetting and appointment of freelance workers, facilitators and volunteers
·        How to produce a policy
·        In case of a problem (recognising behaviour patterns, reporting procedures)
 
Delegates will also receive tailored workbooks and handouts as part of the course.
 
The course will be led by Liz Whitehead, an experienced trainer in Child Protection who delivers training throughout the UK to a wide range of organisations.
