I have used the "colin brain", which is a high-resolution T1 scan in MNI space.   To make a long story short, apparently "colin" scanned his brain 27+ times and this brain was subsequently warped into MNI space at 1x1x1.  It definitely appears "crisper" than the included MNI template.

There's some info on this wiki:

Hello.

Does anyone have a recommendation on how to put a high res MRI into MNI space with FLIRT; without having to downsample to the MNI brain resolution, but to keep the high resolution of the MRI?

Thanks a lot,

Sandy
