I have tried and tried and tried!  I read the "Are you exempt" stuff over and over and always came up with the need to notify.  And finally I found one.

Well, it's me, and I suppose this could look like spam, but it isn't meant to.

I've started a fan site at http://train.spottingworld.com  OK, now when you pick yourself off the floor and stop laughing, let me explain.  First I shall make sure you understand.  It's a SKI JACKET, not an anorak.  Second I don't indulge.  I just supply the site.  But there IS a part where people can give me their personal details.

I checked with the UKIC's helpline.  When you register you may use a pseudonym, that is fine.  And optionally you may give your email address.

Since I am not about to use this address for marketing purposes, and since it is not displayed on the site, the UKIC says that Spotting World is exempt from notification, even though the data is transferred out of the EEA.

I never, ever thought I would find an exempt business, and I found one!
