Reporting of court appearances by somebody at the court is legitimate. That
courts are necessarily in the public domain seems then to be entirely
misunderstood and extended into many of the pressures and approaches some
would wish to see generally enabled by imposing a wide publication of any
personal data in the public domain including conviction records. It also
appears to fit in quite snugly with the methods used to allow for enforced
subject access to conviction records in the UK despite the EU Directive
requirements and the Criminal Records Bureau which was ostensibly set up to
stop such practices.
A sort of strictly might equals a right approach and all that entails I
suppose.
