Some of us are waiting, observing, reading and anticipating some commentary and insight into what Badiou actually said! Why is it worthwhile reading?

Heard quite a bit some year or so ago but this was in a conversation with a sociologist, and after perhaps a pint too much. Something to do with 'positivism' and where Foucoult and Deleuze did not go.
