On the demo on saturday to stop trident, I was wondering yet again on the ethics of how one negotiates with students.  It has always been my policy that I cannot lead students, they have to do it themselves, my community is the people I work with edxcluding them, but ..

There is an HEFCE action plan on sustainable development, lots of stuff on indicators, but they seem to leave out things like trident, iran, and bribery at BAe and the public good :)

one could pretend none of this is happening, and rabbit about global warming but even then private good externalities come thumping in

there seems to be a remarkable silence on this list about Saturday's demo, or how to organise in practice?  I think I shall have to try to organise a local meeting.
