Do you use a VLE? Is your VLE performing well for you? If you don't use a VLE, have you ever considered using open source software? Have any of you started to use the HE Scanning Licence? Would you like to find more innovative ways of using your VLE so that it doesn't just become a giant filing cabinet? Thursday 1 March 2007, University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury This one day workshop is aimed at those interested in sharing experiences of using VLEs in art and design settings. Speakers will explore the following: • Does art and design lend itself naturally to the use of online learning/teaching? • The pros and cons of using VLEs in art and design colleges. • How VLEs can be used in different and innovative ways to support teaching and learning, i.e. not just as a bulletin board and location for course documentation, reading lists and lecture notes. • Hands on experience of using VLEs and evaluating good and bad design.
