VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE WITH WILDSCREEN'S 'WILD FILM HISTORY' OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Wildscreen is creating the world's first centralised collection of films and information documenting the history and heritage of wildlife filmmaking.  Launching in 2007 to mark the centenary of the first British wildlife film produced with a narrative story, it will bring together 100 years of filmmaking history with oral histories, printed materials and the films themselves.  For more information visit: http://www.wildfilmhistory.org/

The outreach element of the project is to share this resource with members of the community who otherwise would not be able to access these materials such as hospitals, prisons, schools and community groups.  The outreach project will be organising and delivering a series of hosted film screenings from the collection presented by some of the key filmmakers involved with natural history filmmaking over the years.

As we enjoy such a variety of films, with 150 in the current collection, we will develop bespoke events that appeal specifically to each individual audience.  The project team will arrange the relevant films or series of clips and associated speakers and visit a number of locations taking the necessary equipment to transform a suitable area on-site into a wild cinema.

Funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund has enabled us to provide this service to a limited number of organisations and institutions free of charge in the South West region.

We are looking for volunteers to join the team.

  • The commitment and hours required will vary in accordance to the event timetable.
  • The main administration will be based in Wildscreen's offices in central Bristol.
  • Full training will be provided and expenses covered for attending events.

Please contact [log in to unmask] for an application form and a copy of our volunteer policy. Please apply before January 30th 2007.
