* APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING * NEW Shooting with High Definition Video Date: Thursday 1st February, 2007 Presenter: Mike Raycroft Venue: 77 Wells Street, London, W1T 3QJ Continuing with the success of the BUFVC Shooting with HDV workshop, Mike Raycroft is introducing Sonyıs exciting new V1 camera alongside the Z1 HDV camera. The V1 camera uses three CMOS sensors rather than the CCDs used by the Z1. It also has a progressive scan shooting mode with native HDV 1080p and 1080i. The V1 is targeted at the independent low-budget filmmaker. During this one-day workshop Mike will take a non-technical approach to shooting HDV1080 with both the Z1 and V1 cameras. Delegates will be given the opportunity to road test both camera in a series of hands on practical exercises, including sessions on working with low light and shooting video with a film look. Participants will: * Understand the implications of shooting with high definition formats. * Shoot their own high definition footage as part of a two person production crew. * Learn about MPEG2 compression and GOP encoding. * Understand down conversion from High to Standard definition. * Review editing software programmes with HDV capability All the operational features of the camera will be explained and delegates will have the opportunity to have their queries answered. Mike Raycroft began his career in television and has spent time working at ITN where he devised many production training programmes, culminating in ITN winning a national training award. He has continued designing and managing large-scale training programmes for new digital start-up stations around the world. As well as running his own training consultancy, he also manages a production company working on corporate and broadcast productions.
