Apologies for cross posting… Marlow, UK – 31st January 2007 – LOGOS: The Journal of the World Book Community, a forum for book and publishing professionals world-wide, announced today the availability of its entire archive online. Published quarterly, LOGOS is an international resource for all who are professionally involved with books and journals, in both print and electronic formats. Running the gamut from authors to readers, LOGOS not only provides insight into the problems and achievements of neighbouring professions, it shows how they are interlinked, and acts as a forum for debate on issues that affect everyone, whether directly or indirectly. The LOGOS archive (www.atypon-link.com/LOG/loi/logo), spanning seventeen years, consisting so far of 650 articles, constitutes a substantial work of reference. Subscribers to the journal have full-text access to the entire archive and all visitors can view the first page of each article for free. In addition, the journal is now accompanied by a new website (www.logos-journal.org <http://www.logos-journal.org/> ) which includes background information, a précis of the current issue and a full topic index which enables readers to reach articles relevant to their enquiries. Gordon Graham, Editor Emeritus of LOGOS, said: “Putting LOGOS online enables readers to study topics of their choice in depth and immediately. LOGOS articles are not ephemeral. For example, we have published eighteen articles on China since 1990, the first of which is as relevant to an understanding of the book scene in China today as it was when it was written. Each article is written by an authority or a serious student of the subject, and embodies personal experience, historical background, critical analysis and a forecast of the future. The premise on which LOGOS was founded in 1990 – that the constituents of the book and journal are all indispensable to one another – has become even more important as the digital/global age has progressed.” About LOGOS LOGOS is a non-profit foundation, dependent entirely on subscription income to cover its out of pocket expenses. Its editor (Charles M Levine, [log in to unmask]), its Board of Trustees and its Editorial Board are all volunteers, as also are the hundreds of contributors. Together with LOGOS readers they form a network of knowledgeable people, dedicated to sharing constructive ideas about the industry they serve.
