The Inclusion Programme is a three-year programme of 13 creative projects that aim to engage people at risk of social exclusion, in particular offenders, long-term unemployed people, and young people aged 16-25, with their heritage and to develop their life skills. The programme is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and has been underway for two years (the final year ends in December 2007). The programme is managed by the Museum’s Inclusion Officer who commissions a range of artists, writers, actors, film-makers etc to work on the various projects. Projects have included:

eye
Prisoners at Wandsworth Prison worked with artists and a writer to
produce artworks inspired by places of personal significance in
· Art

A group of long-term
unemployed and homeless people worked with a graphic designer to create a series
of four art trails aimed at adults and families that enable them to learn more
about

A group of young people from
Newham Young Carers and a group of members from SubCo Trust, a daycare centre
for Asian elders, conducted oral history interviews and worked with a
photographer to document their views on living in
· Endz
meet
A group of young people from Fairbridge in
Hackney, an organisation that works with young people not in education, training
or employment, and young people from Entelechy Arts with complex disabilities
worked with a digital artist to create a piece of video art based on what London
means to them.
To date each project has been evaluated in-house, using a combination of one to one and group discussions, and self-completion questionnaires.

Timescale
The evaluator(s) would need to begin work in time to evaluate the first project, which runs from January until the end of March 2007. The other projects complete in May, July and November. The final report, on the programme as a whole, is required by the end of December 2007.

The fee for this work, including all expenses, is £6,500.
