Happy New Year

Does anyone know if any events are being organised in the UK or if TICO
are planning anything? I can not see any mention on the website.

Subject: [data-protection] Roll on 2007

Just like to wish all on the list seasonal greetings and thanks to all
who
have participated in knowledgeshare via list debates.

With identity theft stories coming at as from all directions and the
UK's ID
card processes and Medical data consolidation continued media interest
along
with Heathrow Airport Biometrics for fast tracking passengers, 2007
could be
an interesting year for increased public awareness of their rights as
well
as the postioning of Data Protection within organisations.

To aid promotion and awareness of Data Protection the EC with the CoE
has
also announced a Data Protection Day of 28th January 2007 (Sunday?).
