Lord Falconer has criticised the police force for their reluctance to disclose the images, and as I was listening to the news on the way back to work 20 minutes ago, BBC News announced that the photos would now be disclosed. Funny how suddenly they feel able to do this.

Subject: [data-protection] Disclosure

I have just read an article about two escaped murderers from Sudbury prison and Derbyshire POlice are refusing to release photographs of them as it is not in the public interest, their human rights could be breached and the Data Protection Act.  Apparently ACPO have stated that photographs should only be released in exceptional circumstances where officers believe that the suspects may be a danger to the public.

Am I missing something here?
