brief story before the question: on my FC6 box (after direct RH9->FC6 upgrade), using "nv17" and "vesa" drivers, coot reports Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0" i figure its to do w/: dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libGLcore.so: undefined symbol: _glapi_Dispatch (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libGLcore.so ... in Xorg.0.log. already tried every combination of loading GLcore or glx in xorg.conf, and yummed xorg-x11-server-Xorg and logout/in. so i figure i have to (1) yum nvidia or (2) yum livna drivers or (3) use the commercial package from nvidia. the internet suggests this choice is effectively irreversible, or a nightmare. so do any of these options 'just work' for coot? any comments appreciated. -bryan
