This position at the MRC Prion Unit is for a collaborative programme being carried out at the Daresbury Laboratory, Cheshire, where the candidate will be mainly located. The successful applicant will join well-established teams in both laboratories in a multidisciplinary environment and will focus on structural studies of prion proteins using synchrotron based x-ray techniques (primarily x-ray crystallography and solution x-ray scattering). Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in structural biology or a related field and a background in at least one of the following areas: biochemistry, biophysics, and X-ray methods. They should enjoy working as part of an energetic team. The post holder works collaboratively with other staff of the Unit and Daresbury Laboratory, in particular with Drs.
