medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

> I have had the good fortune to be in Corfu on his feast day. His body> is carried upright in procession around the town, and you get to> venerate it in an upright position in the church. The perpendicularity> is, of course, in honour of the resurrection; I believe he is placed in> the same posture at Easter.

For those who are curious... On ordinary days ( as when I was there), his coffin - a huge silver thing as I recall - is in a horizontal position. I wasn't able to see if he's visible through a window. One would have to be extremely tall to know.
