PUBLIC LIBRARIES & THE YOUTH OFFER, CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB, 5.2.07

As the government is formulating plans for a new Youth Offer, it’s crucial
that the powerful things public libraries offer young people are
recognised and built on. This conference looks at how libraries’ work is
changing through Fulfilling their Potential, a national programme to
transform young people’s use of public library services. Find out more
about the innovation happening through the programme, and the impact
libraries’ work is having on young people’s lives in local communities.

Come to the Fulfilling Their Potential Conference to explore:
- The unique contribution public libraries can make to the Youth Offer
- What young people want from public libraries and what it takes to put
them at the heart of service planning, design and delivery
- Lessons learned in the first 2 years of Fulfilling their Potential and
how the programme will develop over the next 2 years
- How the active involvement of young people can contribute to community
engagement strategies within public library services and the wider local
authority
- How local, regional and national partnerships can help public libraries
transform their work with young people
- How the most socially excluded young people can be actively and
positively involved in shaping library services, building their personal
skills and self-esteem as a result.
