1. Association news

1.1  A warm welcome to the following organisation which has recently
joined A.L.T.:

fortnight.

1.2 New editors for ALT-N, our quarterly newsletter.
We are delighted to announce two new Co-Editors for ALT-N, Morag Munro 
and Guin Glasfurd-Brown, who will take over from Susi Peacock in June 
2007. Congratulations to both!

1.3  The Association for Learning Technology Journal (ALT-J)
Last call for articles for issues 15.2 (July 07) and 15.3 (November 07)
of ALT-J. If you are keen to submit something that could potentially be
published before the RAE cut-off point, then you need to submit something
to us no later than end January 07. For authors guidelines please see:

1.5  ALT and JISC infoNet - Christmas Charitable Donations
Thank to all who have donated to the fund  We will be sending money to
Oxfam for teacher training and teaching equipment. As one last donation
is expected shortly, we will tell you the final amount raised (and what
we spent it on) in January.

3.3 Journal banding survey
The Centre for the Study of Research Training & Impact (SORTI) at the
University of Newcastle is working on a ‘journal banding’ project. The
intent of the project is to assist educational researchers in preparing
submissions in the context of the assessment of research quality and
professional impact as part of the Research Quality Framework (RQF).
