Hi all,

This is a kind of Call for Papers!

After months of very hard work, I have completed building a new hub for those interested in the interaction of religion in literature, media and culture (and I mean all literature, media and cultures!).  All of you would be welcome to contribute--there is a forum for discussion.  We seem to discuss magic, theology and culture quite a lot in here, so please feel free to contribute!

The site is at: http://northropfryefan.googlepages.com/home

I have submitted the site to Google, Altavista, Yahoo, and many, many other search engines!  So far it will only come up with the key word "northropfryefan" and I'm not certain why...I am planning to liason with the computer tech at Antioch to see if he can help me out!

If any of you want to submit a paper to the site, simply email me, and I will put it up. There is an opportunity for anyone to make comments to papers that are submitted right on the site (separate from the discussion forum).  Undergraduates are also welcome to post papers--as a teacher, I believe it will give undergraduates who are interested in academia or academic careers practice in writing academic conference papers, and will provide an unprecedented opportunity for peer reviewing of these papers along with constructive criticism so the student can improve. Professors who believe they have an undergraduate who would be a good candidate for posting of their papers on the site are welcome to forward those papers to me.  Undergrads can also read papers of graduate students, doctoral students, and professors and learn by example as well.

I have listed every kind of journal resource on the site, and there is also a page where I am continuously compiling book titles which you might find useful in your research.  I have also listed many academic associations with ties to religion, literature and culture.  Magic, witchcraft and paganism definitely fit in, and I will always take suggestions from you if you know of titles you would like me to include.  There is a resource page on the site that lists some very good theoretical sources as well.

I know this is a new kind of thing, but I have every confidence that the site could be a valuable tool and resource for academics.

I have emailed so many academics around the world, and have received some good feedback, and interest in submittnig as well.  The most recent invitation went to Chas Clifton at "The Pomegranate."  The response was quite positive!  I know everyone is busy, but please know this is a standing invitation to all of you to submit whenever you'd like--the site's not going to go anywhere!  You can post papers you've already written as well--no need to write something new up!  Here's an opportunity to "present" that paper you didn't get to at the last academic conference you went to!

Thanks all... and happy holidays!
