2007 International CHRIE Conference

25 – 29 July, 2007

Hyatt Regency Dallas, Texas, USA

 

 

Conference Information:

 

Academics and researchers in tourism and hospitality are invited to join the 2007 International CHRIE Conference that will take place at Dallas, Texas USA from July 25-29, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. The 2007 I-CHRIE conference will be filled with informative refereed presentations, the latest in educational research, exciting displays at the I-CHRIE Marketplace and lots of networking opportunities for members and guests to reconnect with educators, researchers and industry colleagues.

 

International CHRIE was founded in 1946 as an academic non-profit organisation for colleges and universities offering programs of study in tourism and hospitality. With more than 1,400 members world-wide located in 57 countries, International CHRIE is a tremendous source of interaction, information and influence for everyone committed to tourism and hospitality education. Submissions Guidelines:

 

Conceptually or empirically based papers may be submitted at the Referred Papers Track for either twenty (20) minute stand-up or alternatively for poster presentations.

Papers that are not research-based should be submitted through the Symposium Track.

Paper Review Process:

 

Submissions are judged on their overall quality (design of the study, development of the concept, etc.), their significance of the contribution to the discipline, and their interest to conference delegates. All submitted manuscripts must be original (i.e. not been published elsewhere), follow academic writing, structure and methodology. All submissions for refereed papers are subject to a double blind review process. Papers judged to have outstanding merit by the Conference Scientific Committee will receive a Best Paper designation in the conference program and will be recognized at a general session for all attendees.

 

Conference Proceedings & Publication Opportunities:

 

Abstracts (with paper titles and author(s) details) of refereed Paper submissions accepted for presentation at the 2007 International CHRIE conference will be included in the printed official conference program/book, while the full papers will published in the official Conference Proceedings CD-ROM. Abstracts (with poster titles and author(s) details) of refereed Poster submissions accepted for the 2007 International CHRIE conference will be included only in the printed official conference program/book.

 

Four Special issues with selected papers from the conference will be published in the following international referred journals:

Authors of selected conference papers will have the opportunity to submit an enhanced version of their conference paper for review and publication at one of the above special journal issues.

 

Submission Guidelines:

 

All submissions for the 2007 International CHRIE Conference are required to be submitted electronically by using the online submission system that is found at:

Refereed manuscripts (papers and posters) are submitted to the co-Chairs of the Refereed Papers Committee (Dr. Evangelos Christou and Dr. Marianna Sigala, both can be reached at [log in to unmask]) using the online Refereed Forms (respectively, Refereed Paper or Refereed Poster).

 

Symposium proposals are submitted to the Symposium Committee Chair (Amit Sharma, [log in to unmask]) using the online Symposium Forms (Symposium Venue or Special Interest Group).

Paper Submission Deadline:  midnight (Eastern Time - USA) 2nd January, 2007

Evaluation of Papers & Communication with Authors: At early April 2007.
