[Forwarded for Thomas Herron -- H.]
Dear Anne P. et. al.,
Absence from London would not necessarily mean absence from
theatre. Sp was likely in Dublin from 1580-2 and in Co.
Kildare, not too far away, from 1582-4 if not longer (indeed I
forget when he finally got rid of his Dublin properties).
--The Dublin Treasurer's Book from c. 1582-3 lists paying a "david
duke scole master for his paynes in playeng an enterlute vppon
blackmonday; per warrantum dicti maioris &
aldermannorum"
-- The same from c. 1583-4 lists a payment to "the Lord deputies
mvsycians for a play, per warrantum maioris &
Aldermannorum"
