We simply do not permit personal data to be stored on our network. We do
permit personal data to be stored on local C: drives, but we do not do
any back-up or provide any guarantee of the continuing availability of
the data.

In practice we know there is much abuse of the rules and our attempts to
enforce them are simply periodic blitzes and the odd rant at particular
problem teams. The FOI request for the number of MP3 files on the
network definitely improved the situation for a little while !

Subject: Personal drives/space

Hello all

I am considering the level of flexibility we make available to users in
terms of saving personal data into personal space i.e. outside the EDRMS
-
from some flexibility to no flexibility.

If anyone could share their policy or thoughts it would be very helpful!

thanks
