I use mind maps from time to time and have even seen one chap in the supermarket with a mind mapped shopping list!

However, if you want to convince anyone of the power of mind maps, here's another true story. I was once in a session where someone read out feature rich article very quickly. We all had our backs to the speaker except one person who was trying to make sense of the article in real time and summarise it on the board.

We all scribbled away frantically and I filled one and a half pages in around 60 seconds. Many got lost but most made a valiant attempt.

The lad at the board had been briefed on mind maps and he had succeeded in transcribing the salient points of the article almost without fault.

That's the most effective advert for mind maps I've ever seen.

Nancy - Hi!

I am a considerable fan of MindManager. Maps can be exported as Word drafts, PowerPoint slides and websites.   www.murge.com

I reckon, based on five years with undergraduates and postgraduates at the University of Ulster, that at least 25%+ really, really like them.

Well worth exploring more!

Best wishes

Is anyone using Mindmap? Its a software tool that helps you to organise and present ideas. It looks as though it could be valuable in the classroom.
If you have come across it, I'd be interested to know how you use it and whether you are impressed.
