This four-day course (Monday 16 October & Wednesdays 1, 8 &15 November 2006) is suitable for individuals wishing to undertake, critique and familiarise themselves with systematic review methods.
  1. Participants can attend just the first workshop or all four. 
  2. Workshop 1 provides a thorough overview of the principles, practice and purpose of systematic research synthesis. Workshops 2, 3 and 4 provide a critical understanding of the key decision-making stages in a systematic review and hands-on experience of web-based tools for literature searching and review management. 
  3. The course covers quantitative and qualitative synthesis and is relevant for all public policy research areas, including social welfare, education, crime and justice, transport, health care and health promotion, and housing. 
  4. If you were to take this course, you would be learning alongside postgraduate students who are taking the course as part of study for their MSc in Evidence for Public Policy and Practice.  
  5. Fees start at £20 per day.
