FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 19/09/06 Anthony Joseph's The African Origins of UFOs Tour 2006 To celebrate the long-awaited release of The African Origins of UFOs (Salt Publishing, 2006), acclaimed Trinidadian-born poet, novelist and musician Anthony Joseph will be embarking on a nine-leg tour of the UK and Europe in October. Joseph is acknowledged as the leading writer of the Black British avant-garde; the frantic inventiveness of his poetry and prose matched only by the energy and passion of his live performances. The African Origins of UFOs is Joseph's third book, an 'afro-pyschodelic-noir' fusing metafiction, mythology, Afro-futurism and science fiction. Early admirers include Linton Kwesi Johnson, Kamau Braithwaite and Professor Lauri Ramey, who describes it as 'a future fiction classic'. The African Origins of UFOs Tour will bring Anthony Joseph to the attention of audiences all over the UK at music venues, arts centres and literature festivals, and marks the long-overdue arrival of one of the UK's most exciting and challenging voices.
