Information professionals may think they have established a good process for sourcing information products and often assume they are already getting the best deal. However using procurement tools, such as RFPs, to establish a level playing field between suppliers within the framework of a proven sourcing process, will increase the chances of a best deal with the most suitable provider.

Based on her two articles co-authored with Susan Montgomery, recently published by Information Outlook, "7 Steps for Sourcing Information Products" and "How to write and RFP for Information Products", Helen Clegg and Rowan Atkins will present participants with a tried and tested sourcing methodology and outline the main elements to include when drawing up a successful Request Ror Proposal. The presentation will include an online demonstration of A.T. Kearney's e-sourcing tool.

Kindly sponsored by OneSource, this is a free event for SLA members. There will be a charge of £5.00 (payable on the door by cheque or cash) to non-members. Wine & Canapés will be served.
