Dear Friends of Wisdom,

Karl Rogers has suggested that we should hold a Friends of Wisdom Conference, and a number of others have expressed their support for the idea.  I too support the idea of a conference.  Karl has offered to help organize it, and Bruce Lloyd has offered to look into whether it could be held at South Bank University, London.  If we do go ahead with the idea, a host of questions arise.  When?  Where?  What about funds?  Who should organize it?  How do we decide?  Should we turn ourselves into a Society, or a Charity perhaps, in order to facilitate organizing the conference, and getting funds for it?  Do we, as Karl suggests, organize the conference around an open forum and a set of seminars and workshops?  Do we have some planned talks?

Friends of Wisdom is an international group with, at present, 119 members from 24 different countries, 60 members from the USA, 27 from the UK, 5 from Australia, and other countries having members in ones and twos.  Deciding where to hold the first conference clearly poses a problem.  Do we go ahead with what has been suggested so far, and choose London?  I am certainly prepared to work with Karl and Bruce, and anyone else in the vicinity, to see what can be done to have the conference in London, at South Bank University or elsewhere.  I am inclined to think we should aim to have the conference in the summer of 2008.

                                     What do you think?

                                               Best wishes,

Dear Nick and Friends of Wisdom,

Perhaps, we should start thinking about holding a conference in the future, where we can meet and discuss ideas in an open forum and a set of seminars and workshops.
If you are interested in doing this, perhaps next year or the following year, then I will be happy to help organise it, as well as contribute, and I am sure that many other members of the list would also be interested.

What do you and others think about this?

Karl.
