Unit Director (Lake View Terrace): As Clinical Specialist, you will ensure the integrity of the Therapeutic Community and services for a male adolescent unit with 40 beds, supervise clinical staff, and implement procedures to ensure Clinical excellence and compliance within organizational guidelines and CCL regulations. Provide leadership and clinical supervision in an integrated treat, educational and residential program for youth with substance abuse and mental health problems. Serve as ?change agent? to ensure continuous quality improvement program services and collaboration with multi-disciplinary department to ensure a safe and positive Therapeutic Community. Requirements: Master?s degree in social or behavioral sciences, 3-5 years directly related experience with at-risk youth; drug or alcohol treatment setting; supervisory and administrative experience. Strong knowledge of group work and therapeutic community strategies. Sound interpersonal, critical judgment and clinical skills. Demonstrated success in situational leadership; participatory management; supervision; administration; team-building; performance coaching; ability to multitask and collaborate; ability to work with a wide diversity of people/situations including external agency partnering and strong verbal/written communication; strong knowledge of group work and therapeutic community strategies. Valid
California driver?s license. Meet criminal clearance/child abuse indexing requirements.

We are seeking several dynamic full time high level staff to work in the area of Training, Outpatient Counselling and Assessment.  The positions are part of the Odyssey Institute of Studies Training Unit, Odyssey Community Services and the Odyssey Therapeutic Community.

The roles will involve overseeing and growing the client day programs and projects within Odyssey, and undertaking assessment, referral and brief interventions for clients seeking admission into the Therapeutic Community.  The training position is an important role in the future development of a national alcohol and other drug focused Registered Training Organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand, intimate experience of individual recovery. Windhorse Associates uses a mindfulness-based philosophy in working with people experiencing extreme mind states, including depression, trauma, and mental illness in all its forms. Specific experience in this field is not required. A personal contemplative discipline such as yoga, meditation, a serious religious pratice or an artistic discipline is highly desirable.
Time commitment is approximately 25 hours per week, which includes approximately three hours per day with the client participating in keeping a household; shopping, cooking, cleaning, watching TV, going to shows, hiking, etc. There are also team and supervisory meetings. Commitments to school or another job are a good thing, but should not exceed 25 or 30 hours per week.
